Getting to know your grower

Chad McMahon has been involved in the commercial landscape industry since the early 1990s when he joined the family’s commercial landscape and nursery business. He has gained extensive experience growing and maintaining a variety of plants and seasonal color at the company’s nursery as well as knowledge of how to install and maintain their health.

In July 2022 Chad installed a new LiveRoof system in Houston, Texas with the assistance of John Scholten of LiveRoof Global. John had come down to Houston from the Michigan office of LiveRoof Global in order to install a new LiveRoof for a customer and Chad was the landscape contractor installing the roof for a happy new customer. During the process John had discussed the fact that the previous LiveRoof grower for Texas had recently retired leaving them without a reliable grower for the Texas market. With what he learned on this project Chad immediately recognized the advantages of the LiveRoof System and became very interested in seeking the opportunity to fill the role of being a LiveRoof grower for the Texas region. After some further discussions and visits from John to the nursery and growing facilities, LiveRoof offered Chad the opportunity to be the new grower for the Texas region. Chad accepted the role of regional grower and began growing the LiveRoof plant material in January 2023.
